Everything László wore in 'The Brutalist'
A low-effort, moderately inaccurate list. Update: Never finished this.
Because I have better things to do. Continuously updating.
First, his plaid button down from this scene:
My best guess is a vintage 1960’s (like this) or 1970’s Pendleton (less accurate). The flap chest pockets are a dead giveaway for me, although the plaid pattern may be slightly different. It looks like his shirt has either silver or dark abalone buttons (similar to the ones popularized by Pendleton ’49ers).
My personal favorite is his grey sweater, but I can’t seem to find an exact match.
The style and shape is adjacent to Issey Miyake, and I’m leaning towards the Homme Plissé Issey Miyake MC November Top. The avant-garde shape, as well as the mock neck, makes this piece stand out from the rest of the costuming, and may reflect the transition back to city-life and his more corporate position at the architecture firm.

The sweater is likely tailored at Brody’s waist and hips.
My next personal favorite is his summer tweed blazer
This blazer made multiple appearances throughout the film, most notably at the train station, and in his argument with Harry Van Buren at the build site.
The main characteristics I noted are the chest patch pocket, and the lack of a vent in the back. Ventless jackets are most common in tuxedos and formal wear, but are a popular European style, particularly linked to Italian tailoring. The ventless back maintains Brody’s slim silhouette, accentuating the natural contour of the back and waist.
The closest I’ve come to is The Armoury’s Model 11 or 12 sport coat in a Cerruti Italian summer tweed. Pictured below is Model 11, in a brown color. Link to Model 11, Link to Model 12. The only miss is the swelled edges, which does not match László’s.
The Cerruti Italian summer tweed isn’t available on their website, but their Hong Kong and NYC locations accept custom orders.
Other guesses of mine are:
Brunello Cucinelli, similar to this one but in a summer tweed.
Anthology, similar, but without a chest patch pocket. Could definitely be a custom from them. Link.
On a smaller budget, there are vintage options, like this, although this one is single-vented.
The boxy crop navy work jacket:
I thought this vintage 1960’s Badger Uniforms work jacket (picture below) was pretty accurate.
My immediate thought, though, was a 1960’s Mr. 2 Ply Workwear Jacket, like this one , or this, although there are tons of modern adaptations of these jackets as well. (Boooo, buy vintage/secondhand!!) Any search for navy blue vintage work jackets will find you plenty of close matches.
can you get some of the slacks he wore too, or his shoes? thank you!
